Just a quick note to say that “Kurt Weill: From Berlin to Broadway” is going well. Audiences love it, well, audiences who don’t get freaked out by the emotional intensity of Act 1 love it (we have a saying that if you hate Act 1, you’ll love Act 2, I mean it’s called ‘From Berlin to Broadway’ after all;) ). Reviews from the Chronicle Herald and Chester Clipper are up on http://gportfolio.gnote.ca/ . There’s 4 shows left (tonight through Friday at 8pm), so if you want to see an amazing show, come on down to the Chester Playhouse soon!
Meanwhile, I’m also doing a pile of accompanying at the Playhouse’s Champagne Gala on Saturday. It’s a fundraising dealie, so tickets are expensive ($75), but if you have money and want to support theatre, drink champagne, and see a fun variety show, check it out!
